ERÄMESSUT GOES RANGE, THE AFTERMOVIE

Erämessut Goes Range, aftermovie

An aftermovie covering the whole event at the Loppi shooting centre on 7 June 2026, made to market Erämessut Goes Range.

PROJECT

AN EVENT THAT COMES AROUND EVERY OTHER YEAR.

Erämessut Goes Range is a three-day event at the Loppi shooting centre where visitors can try out firearms from different importers under supervision at five test shooting stations. Teuvo Louhisola Oy runs it together with the Riihimäki game fair. The event is held every other year, so the videos stay useful for marketing in the years to come.

We worked out with the client before the shoot what they wanted the event to show. We settled on one aftermovie and three short station videos. The aftermovie tells what happens at the event. The station videos show a visitor what goes on at the rifle, pistol and shotgun stations. All of it was shot in one day, on the final Sunday of the event.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Teuvo Louhisola Oy is a Helsinki importer founded in 1957 that brings hunting and sport shooting firearms and accessories to Finland. The company is the Finnish importer for the Italian brand Benelli. The guns on test at the event included Benelli shotguns and the Lupo Alpha rifle.

Production

The order we filmed in shaped the whole day.

We shot the station videos in the morning before the crowds and collected aftermovie material through the day. The Benelli Show was in the middle.

Challenge

Camera positions were agreed with the organisers in advance.

01

Erämessut Goes Range is a big event. The Loppi range has five test shooting stations and 90 firearms to try from eight importers. Over the three days it ran to roughly 3,900 test shoots. We had one day to produce both the aftermovie for the whole event and three separate station videos.

The Benelli Show is a case of its own. Italian shooter Davide De Carolis puts on a fast, visually striking display. On the Sunday it runs once. Filming it had to be planned and agreed with the organisers in advance so that we could get close without disturbing the show.

  • Five test shooting stations and the whole event area in a single day
  • Four videos for the client from the same day, each with its own job
  • The Benelli Show runs once and cannot be repeated
  • The aftermovie stays in use for marketing the event in the years ahead
Idea

Shoot the stations before the crowds arrive.

02

The station videos had to be easy to follow and easy to relate to. A visitor sees what happens at the station and how things are done there, so we filmed them first thing in the morning while the range was still quiet. Two actors went through the stations the same way any visitor would.

The aftermovie was built from how the day actually went. Once the stations were done, we moved on to the event itself: the Finnish Hunters' Association tent, the SRA practical shooting range and the Benelli A.I. Challenge, where clays are shot from over 100 metres.

  • Two actors went through the rifle, pistol and shotgun stations from a visitor's point of view
  • Aerial footage shows the scale of the event area
Execution

Two cameras and a drone.

03

We shot on Sunday 7 June 2026 on Canon gear. Konsta was on camera, Valtteri directed, flew the drone and took the second camera for the Benelli Show. Before the show we went through with the organisers where the camera operators could move, what angles to take and where the performer would be at each stage. With two cameras the show was covered from two directions.

The split made sense, because the same rounds through the event produced both the station video shots and the aftermovie clips. Konsta could concentrate on the image, Valtteri on making sure the actors' lines landed first time and that everything got filmed. Konsta finished the edit.

  • One shoot day, 7 June 2026, at the Loppi shooting centre
  • An aftermovie and three station videos: rifle, pistol and shotgun
  • Two cameras on the Benelli Show and aerial footage of the event area
  • Plus our own social cut of the Benelli Show
Rifle station, Benelli Lupo Alpha
Pistol station, Ruutisavu
Shotgun station, Benelli shotguns

We got what we ordered. The shoot was handled professionally, our wishes were understood in the execution and they were taken into account nicely in the final products (the videos). Good work with a young and efficient touch! Teuvo Louhisola Oy thanks you. Nina Holmberg
