PROJECT

ONE DAY, THREE LIGHTS.

Kassiopeia Finland Oy runs several hotels in the Levi ski resort, including Hotel Levi Panorama and Levi Summit. The brief was drone-led video and photography showing the hotels in their fell landscape: the scale of the place, access to the slopes, the winter mood.

We shot during the Nordic Arctic Production Trip, splitting one February day into morning, midday and afternoon to capture different light conditions. The content was designed to work on the website, social and campaigns.

The weather sets the schedule, not us. How one February day yielded three different lights and the full scale of the hotels.

Winter drone work in a live ski resort means working in a living environment: slopes running, weather-dependent time windows, one day to cover several light conditions.

  • Morning, midday and afternoon within a single February day in Lapland.
  • The weather sets the schedule, not us.

Idea

The hotel has to look like itself.

A ski-resort hotel doesn't need a concept. A drone is the only tool that places it in its landscape properly: showing the fell behind it, the slopes around it, the distance from where you stand to where you want to go. We built the day around getting that on camera at the right moments.

Drone first, camera fills in.

One shoot day timed to three light phases. Drone first for establishing and movement shots, a two-operator Inspire 2 for precise framing at altitude. Photography at the same time for marketing and web use, plus ground-level camera work for social cuts.

  • One hotel brand film (~40–60 s).
  • Two to three social videos (~15–30 s each).
  • 30–40 finished drone photographs, horizontal and vertical by use case.

Kuvalähde Oy carried out the drone shoots of the Levi Summit event centre and Hotel Levi Panorama in the Levi fell extremely professionally from start to finish. The production team worked smoothly even in the demanding winter conditions, and the result exceeded our expectations: we got high-quality, visually striking image and video material we can use widely and for a long time in our marketing. The collaboration was efficient, flexible and reliable.
