Guests were in the building throughout the shoot day.
The rooms were in use, the time windows were short and the light changed through the day. We shot without disturbing the guests.
A five-star luxury hotel on Södermalm in central Stockholm.
A short mood video of the boutique hotel, interiors and rooms in natural light, from the same shoot day.
In spring 2025 we travelled through Stockholm as part of a European production trip. It was the first stop on the trip. We shot a day of photography and video at the hotel.
The day produced a mood video, photographs of the spaces and drone shots from outside.
Stadshotell is a 19th-century Swedish idea: a town's own grand hotel, where people came to mark the big moments of their lives. Stockholm never had one, until an 1870s building on Södermalm opened as Stockholm Stadshotell.
We shot both the photographs and the mood video in a single day. The drone covered the exteriors.
The rooms were in use, the time windows were short and the light changed through the day. We shot without disturbing the guests.
A boutique hotel's value is in its atmosphere. The texture of the materials, the quality of light and the feel of a space are what set it apart from generic hotel images. We shot Stadshotell the way you would shoot a location for a film, looking for what is distinctive about this place.
We worked through the hotel's rooms, corridors and common areas in order, following a vision agreed with the owner. We used the building's natural light and chose the framing space by space.
One production day, light gear, working with the natural light. Part of our EU 2025 production trip.
