VIDEOTUOTANTO

WORK, NOT A DEMONSTRATION.

Suomen Kuivajää, company film

A company film built from four active worksites: real dry-ice blasting in genuine industrial environments, anchored by the dry-ice manufacturing process.

PROJECT

FOUR LOCATIONS, ONE WEEK.

Suomen Kuivajää Oy is a Finnish dry-ice blasting company. The brief was a company film and a full image set from active worksites. Not a studio demonstration — real work, done.

Four locations around Finland: a Jalostaja food factory in Turku, the Kaukora factory in Raisio, the Fermion pharmaceutical plant in Hanko, and Suomen Kuivajää’s own manufacturing plant in Lahti. Documentary and directed scenes at all four.

Production

Four factories, four chapters.

One week to document a product that disappears as it does its job. Each day was its own location and its own challenge.

Turku

A dark food factory, running.

01

At the Jalostaja factory the goal was to capture dry-ice blasting in a real food-production environment. A dark industrial interior with no ambient light, and a production line that couldn't be stopped. We brought our own lighting and worked around the running line.

Raisio

Before and after, same frame.

02

At the Kaukora factory we documented the cleaning of aluminium moulds step by step. Before-and-after images do the selling here: the cleaning result is dramatic when you show it right. Same frame, same angle, a different state in the mould.

Hanko

Basket work at fifteen metres.

03

At the Fermion pharmaceutical plant, workers cleaned the exterior wall from a lift basket at 15 metres. Flying the Inspire 2 around a working crane required safety planning before arrival — at height there was no room for improvisation. The drone was the only tool that made the scale visible.

  • DJI Inspire 2 + Mini 4 Pro for aerials.
  • Action cameras on the crane structure for close angles.
  • Stills from the factory roof.
Lahti

The product's source.

04

At Suomen Kuivajää's own manufacturing plant we documented the dry-ice production process itself. The product's source is visually unique, dramatic material most people have never seen. It anchors the whole film.

The collaboration with Kuvalähde Oy on video production and photography went excellently from start to finish. The team worked professionally, swiftly and with a great attitude. They understood our needs and wishes for the video right away – and managed to capture exactly the right mood from our worksites on the shoot days. The result was a video that was high-quality, striking and emotionally resonant – exactly what we hoped for.

Behind the scenes

Four shoot days, four factories, one week in July. Our own lighting for the dark interiors, drone and action cameras for the high crane work. Real work, not staging.
